Rumplestiltskin

An ancient European tale of shadow and trickster, where naming the hidden brings freedom.

A young maid is tasked with the impossible—spinning straw into gold—and makes a desperate bargain to save her life. To protect her child, she must uncover the true name of her mysterious rescuer.

This ancient European tale invites us into the realm of the trickster, exploring how naming our shadows can bring us into greater honesty and health.

Includes: a full script in iambic pentameter (easy to learn and recite), four original songs, and detailed notes for bringing the play to life. This Play was originally performed at Sage Programs, a waldorf-inspired educational program, in Boulder Colorado.
