Thank you for your interest in our performances and in the way we work with children and their parents.

On this site you’ll find video presentation in which I share parts of my biography along with a wide range of topics central to my approach to education and family support. Some of the themes I explore include:

  • Rhythm in the home and classroom

  • Classroom management

  • Storytelling and performances as soul medicine and their pedagogical use with children

  • Supporting challenging behavior, insecurities, self-confidence, social dynamics, and co-creation in community

  • Creative work for adults as a path to spiritual and personal growth, especially through powerful medicine stories

  • Choosing myths, legends, fairy tales, and folk tales responsibly, with attention to cultural appropriation

It has been my pleasure to work with children and their parents for over 40 years, and to share my love and enthusiasm for these practices. Over the years, I have also consulted with many parents on topics such as navigating difficulties with children, supporting children through divorce, and understanding the temperaments—both your child’s and your own—and how those dynamics play out in daily life.

Aiyana Rutherford

I grew up in a Waldorf family. Both of my parents were teachers and that shaped how I see the world and the work I do today. For the past 12 years, I’ve directed the homeschool Kindergarten at Sage Programs, a community rooted in the rhythms of nature and dedicated to the principles of peace: peace in our hearts, peace in our minds, and peace in our bodies.

I simply love people. Whether with children, parents, or teachers, I enjoy meeting each person where they are. Many “problem children” have thrived in my work because they feel truly seen and trusted. I believe we are not remembered for our mistakes, but by the quality of repair we engage in. Holding this trust allows us to soften, forgive, and step into the conversations that bring deeper understanding.

Alongside my classroom work, I offer consultations for parents and educators sometimes focused on problem-solving at home, sometimes on new approaches in the classroom or within homeschool and nature programs. I bring clarity, creativity, and compassion to each meeting, along with a social health curriculum I’ve developed over the past 12 years. It’s a blessing for me to engage in these conversations, it’s an opportunity for me to learn and grow, as we discover answers together that I could not have found alone.

Testimonials

Willow Rose, consulting with Aiyana

“When it comes to matters of children-be it social conflict, behavioral problems, or general understandings of their souls and spirits, Aiyana is brilliantly masterful.

She understands children in a way that is exquisitely intuitive. She “gets” them on a level I have never seen another educator or parent be able to. One of her superpowers is that she is able to see the hidden or underlying mysteries to the way children work and offers straightforward suggestions to assist getting through a troubling season or emerging/persisting problems.

Aiyana can so quickly disperse charged energy either between children or with a child and their caregivers. She has such a gift for not only managing social health in a formal setting, but for communicating tools and methods for others to be able to do this same in their respective places of education or home life.

In my consultation with Aiyana she gave me a social health map that I could use as scaffolding at the school that I am a part of where we have been experiencing ongoing divisive challenges. Her tools are so simple and clear and helpful! She is able to bring adults into a child’s world so that there can be attunement with them and collaboration between them.

Aiyana is a treasure trove of helpful strategies and sees situations in such a unique way. Her council was (and is) priceless!”

Amy Leetz, on Meagan’s work with children

“What makes Meagan’s program so extraordinary is the way each role invites children to discover new parts of themselves. One summer they might step into the bravery of a hero, the next into the mischief of a trickster.. and with every play, they gain confidence, and a deeper sense of who they are. My girls grew through these summers not just as performers, but as people. Meagan’s music and vision filled our summers with meaningful magic.”

Liz Kriso, working with Bryleigh for website design

I highly recommend Bryleigh to anyone needing a professional, beautiful and easy-to-manage website. Before working with Bryleigh, updating my website was a constant source of stress.  I just didn’t have the skills to manage it and my business could not grow until I had a solid website to send customers to. Bryleigh took the time to understand my business goals and needs and built a beautiful, modern site on a user friendly platform. Now I can easily add instagram posts and update my offerings myself. In the past 6 months since I have updated my site, I have received many new inquiries and interest in my programming and have received multiple compliments about the professional, clean design. The process was effortless and the results speak for themselves. I highly recommend Bryleigh!
